The Buckeyes Plan For Coming Back

Brothers, I know you must be wondering what the University’s plans are for the Fall 2020 semester in light of recent developments regarding COVID-19. The following is sourced from Ohio State’s website:

“As we gradually return to our campuses, every Buckeye plays an important part in taking care of each other. Because when Buckeyes are safe and healthy, we can stay focused on our endeavors — and on improving lives.

COVID-19 is a unique challenge in our 150-year history, and the COVID-19 Transition Task Force is dedicated to facing it head on: with ingenuity, compassion and spirit.

The Ohio State University established a transition task force to direct the return to appropriate on-campus operations. In addition to closely monitoring state and federal guidance, the task force is using a data-informed approach for recommending when it is safe to begin transitioning back onto campus.

Every individual has a role in keeping the community safe, and the university expects faculty, staff and students to model healthy behaviors.

A pledge will be required for members of the campus community, including students, faculty, staff, administrators and visitors, to affirm their understanding of what is needed to help fight the spread of the virus and their intention to do their part. Accountability measures will be in place for those who refuse to abide by required health and safety guidelines.

Face masks must be worn in indoor settings, including, but limited to, classrooms, common areas, conference rooms, shared office spaces, hallways, buses and shared vehicles on all Ohio State campuses. Masks must also be worn in outdoor spaces where individuals cannot maintain appropriate physical distancing. This aligns with a face mask requirement enacted last week by the City of Columbus.

Together as Buckeyes, we will chart a path forward, create a considerate community for all, and we’ll find ways to be stronger together — even while we stand six feet apart.”
